Rehoming procedure

All the dogs rehomed from St Francis are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and treated for fleas.

Puppies which are too young to be neutered are homed only on the understanding that they will be neutered as soon as they are old enough.

We try to be flexible in our rehoming requirements, and will consider homes where the dogs will be left for short periods due to their owners work, or to homes with older children.

Each home offered is considered on a case-by-case basis, so we will ask you questions when you first contact us, and then undertake a home check to visit you. You are welcome to visit the dogs home as many times as you like by appointment. If there is a dog which you are interested in and your circumstances are suitable, you can spend some time with him or her in our field. We always place our dogs on 24 hour reserves. This gives you time to thoroughly consider taking on a rescue dog.

Our dog charges are:

  • £160 for puppies up to 6 months
  • £130 for dogs 6 months old up to 8yrs
  • £100 (maximum) for dogs over 9 years old

Once you have homed a dog from us we are always on the end of a phone to answer any questions you might have, or you can pop back and see us at any time during opening hours. We also run our own training classes and these will provide you with the perfect opportunity to come back and bond with your dog in a supportive training environment.
