ANNOUNCEMENT ON PLANNING APPLICATION & OPEN EVENT
EXCITING NEWS – OPEN EVENT – 9 OCTOBER 2021.
Today is another great day for St Francis Dogs Home with some very exciting times ahead for us.
After an incredible amount of hard work by our architects and our entire team of professionals, we are delighted to announce that our ambitious plans are complete and the planning application has now been submitted to Cornwall Council.
Trustees summarised this, saying:
“Everyone is so excited as this marks another milestone on the journey to re-opening the rescue centre. We have worked together on this stage of the journey, scrutinising successive versions of the draft plans, and making improvements along the way. We have been out to visit other rescues and we have talked with people across the sector about what works best in the design of rescue centres.
As well as doing our research across the dog rescue sector we have had to consider the effects of coronavirus on the way the sector works. We aimed to get a design for the new building to be fit to take our charity into the future.
This has required us to be open to new ideas and different ways of working. It has been a very positive process.”
There is a massive sense of excitement as we transform our charity. We will be able to support dogs in need, as well as owners, right across the county. Today is another positive step forwards as we move towards the rebuild and reopening.
We would like to thank all of our supporters and well-wishers who are cheering us on along this journey.”
We would love to invite everyone interested to our Open Event when the plans will be on display and we can answer your questions.
This will be held on:
Saturday 9 October 2021, between 10.30 and 12.30
at:
The Hotel Bristol, Narrowcliff, Newquay, TR7 2PQ
We look forward to meeting you then and sharing more of the excitement about the redevelopment of the centre to help rescue dogs for many more years to come.
